DestinyBungie repeats their “30 seconds of fun”, but with Diablo-style loot and space wizards.

While it’s significantly improved with the expansions, Bungie always seems to have a problem explaining the backstory, and Destiny is no exception. While the main storyline is initially confusing (robot space cat woman from the future?) the length is around on par with the typical FPS, but it doesn’t take long to realise that it doesn’t really matter as the gunplay is just fun and well balanced, meaning the fairly limited content including strikes and raids maintain a high level of replay-ability.
