Horizon: Zero Dawn

Guerilla out-Ubisofts Ubisoft with an excellent open world adventure.

Guerilla has created an excellent setting with a post-post-(post)-apocalypse, where the player is a huntress armed with a simple bow and spear while huge animal-shaped robots are a major threat. With the great pacing and incredible graphics, simple quality of life improvements such as tracking materials needed for crafting, and the richness of the environment without adding filler, there are incredibly few rough edges in Horizon. It’s clear a huge amount of care has been taken in every aspect of its development, and I can’t wait for more content.
